Yes we can ! That is the sad part. Some disciples leave God because they have failed to continue in the grace. How?
1. By allowing bitter roots to grow in our hearts.
Hebrews 12:15
See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.
2. By easily getting carried away from the truth.
Hebrews 13:9
Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings. It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace.
3. By becoming proud
1 Peter 5:5
All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."
4. By taking grace for granted and not repenting.
Jude 1:4
For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.
5. By not learning righteous ways
Isaiah 26:10
Though grace is shown to the wicked, they do not learn righteousness. God's grace is shown so we can learn righteousness not to remain as wicked evil people
The grace of God is abundant yet we can miss it. Let us pray and grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
2 Peter 3:17-18
17 Therefore, dear friends, since you already know this, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and fall from your secure position.
18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.
